Introduction to Worcester Buddhist Centre

logoWBC was started by Vajragupta early in 2002. He was chair of Birmingham Buddhist Centre at the time and wanted to start outreach classes in nearby towns and cities. He and newly ordained Nibbhaya drove from Birmingham each Tuesday evening in the centre’s old van with mats cushions and a rupa (statue of the Buddha) and led classes at the university. Vipulakirti joined the team and then Viryanaya. The 4 Order Members are also trustees of the WBC charity.

4 years ago WBC bought a house to run the regular’s group and study groups from. As this is not a public building we continued to run introductory classes at the Quaker Meeting House. From 07 04 16 all activities will be at St. Richard’s Hospice, Worcester. We are glad to be part of the hospice. There is a lovely atmosphere, conducive to classes on Buddhism. We look forward to seeing you there.
